Jagan withdraws 7-day fast

Jagan, fast, fee reimbursementFormer Kadapa MP Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy, who has been on a fast for the last seven days demanding immediate release of funds for the fee reimbursement, today withdrew his fast by accepting a glass of lemon juice from the mother of Varalakshmi who had reportedly committed suicide due to delay in the fee reimbursement.

Before he began the fast, Jagan said the fast would continue for seven days and as per the announcement, he withdrew the fast at the end of seventh day today amid allegations that people were brought to participate in his camp on payment of Rs.200 per day per head.

Earlier in the day, Gandhi hospital doctors after examining Jagan said that his condition has weakened and he should immediately withdraw his fast.

The government has totally ignored his fast and has not responded positively towards it but ministers appealed to him to end the fast as the government has concluded an agreement with the professional college managements on fee reimbursement.

The leaders of the Jagan camp had criticised the government for ignoring his fast and not releasing the funds meant for fee reimbursement for which Jagan undertook the fast. “Chief Minister has chosen not to respond to the fast of Jagan as he has decided to water down the schemes introduced by the late chief minister YSR,” cine actress Roja alleged speaking on the occasion of closing of the camp.

Secunderabad MP Jayasudha and Lakshmi Parvathi, widow of late NTR said that people have responded to the fast though the government has ignored it.
