SC Approves Cauvery Draft Management Scheme:- The Supreme Court approved the Centre's draft Cauvery management scheme to ensure the smooth distribution of water across the Southern states. With lot of noise across the South Indian states especially in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, the Supreme Court revealed its decision today. A bench that has been headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra revealed their decision and they rejected the proposals of Kerala and Karnataka governments on the scheme.

The Supreme Court termed their suggestions as devoid of merits. The apex court also dismissed the plea of Tamil Nadu which sought against the Centre for initiation of contempt. The court's decision came soon after the Karnataka verdict has been out. The Centre submitted a draft on the Cauvery management scheme as per the court's request. The Supreme Court asked the Centre to form a Cauvery management scheme to release the water from Karnataka to Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry.
