Relief for Chandrababu: Supreme Court dismisses AP Govt's Case:- The plea made by the Andhra Pradesh Government to challenge TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu's anticipatory bail in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road scam case has been dismissed by the Supreme Court. Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta, who formed the bench, rejected the State Government's plea that contested the relief given to Naidu by the High Court on January 10, 2024. The court pointed out that it had already dismissed an appeal related to the same FIR and involving other accused last year.

Considering the previous order, the Apex Court stated that it is not inclined to entertain the State Government's appeal. The Inner Ring Road scam case involves the manipulation of the master plan of Amaravati capital city, the alignment of Inner Ring Road, and the seed capital, which allegedly resulted in undue benefits for several companies during Naidu's tenure as Chief Minister. The Supreme Court also mentioned that if Naidu fails to cooperate with the investigation, the State Government can approach the court for the cancellation of his bail.
