Telangana Woman Commits Suicide Depressed with Currency Note Ban

The withdrawal of Rs.500 and Rs.1000 notes has got a big shock to the nation . The shock was so much that the rich are becoming poor and poor and becoming rich.

In a shocking incident, a woman committed suicide on Thursday after she found out that the cash worth of Rs 25 lakh  which she has is worthless.

According to the police, Kandukuri Vinoda (55), of Shanigapuram village in Mahbubabad Mandal had sold her 12 acres at Amanagal for Rs 76 lakh to dealers two months back.

Vinoda took this step as her husband was suffering from paralysis. So, she needed money for his treatment.

The buyers to whom she has sold her land paid Rs 48 lakh in installments. Vinoda had to get the remaining amount. The money was kept in the house as they were thinking to buy another piece of land.

Vinoda paid about Rs 3 lakh for her husband’s treatment. The remaining amount of Rs 20 lakh she cleared a debt.

Locals said "Vinoda wanted to give Rs 10 lakh each to her two daughters Rajitha and Kavitha as they hadn’t paid any dowry. Son had also wanted money from a land sale. Her son Srinivas had demanded that the money is given to him. There was also an argument between the mother and son on the issue."

In the meanwhile, the government announced the currency notes ban. This came as a big shock to Vinoda who thought that the money was now, not valid. Worried because of the dispute with her son and also the ban, she committed suicide early on Thursday morning.

Mahbubabad police have registered a case of suicide and are reviewing.
