Vemulawada Temple Work Starts

Irrigation Minister, T Harish Rao kick-started the beautification work of Vemulawada Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple in Karimnagar on Thursday.

Telangana Chief Minister KCR had announced Rs 100 crore out of which Rs 62.89 crore has already been released to take up the land acquisition, construction of a mini tank bund and building temple tank under Mission Kakatiya works.

Under the plan, 30 acres of the temple tank will be given to the VTDA in which a compound wall will be constructed.

Apart from this the temple precincts include Abhisheka Mandapam, Nitya Kalyana Mandapam, Siva Kalyana Vedika, Sri Rama Kalyana Mandapam, Kalyana Katta and a queue complex for the devotees. The development also includes Teppotsavam and Dharmagundam facilities.

VTDA will acquire 30 acres at an estimated cost of Rs 22.30 crore and merge it with Gudi cheruvu tank. Another Rs 39 crore have been earmarked for the construction of 150-foot width mini tank bund road, two bridges, retaining wall and outlet canal of Gudi cheruvu.

Laying the foundation stone, Harish Rao said: “Though the previous rulers have neglected the development of Rajanna temple, the TRS government-led by KCR is committed to develop the shrine.”

He accused Chandrababu Naidu for creating hurdles to the irrigation projects in Telangana.

Harish alleged “Naidu, who wrote a letter to the Centre seeking stalling of the Kaleshwaram and Palamur lift Irrigation projects, says that he didn’t oppose Telangana’s moves.” He pointed out AP’s letter to Raichur authorities against carrying out works on Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme (RDS).
