KCR inaugurates Nine New Medical Colleges in Telangana:- Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has inaugurated nine new Medical Colleges in the state virtually today. The medical colleges are constructed in Kamareddy, Karimnagar, Khammam, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Rajanna Sircilla, Vikarabad and Janagama districts. Telangana Health Minister T Harish Rao announced that there is a medical education revolution in the state under the leadership of KCR. He also said that Telangana is the leading state in the production of doctors and foodgrains.

Before the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, there were five medical colleges in Telangana which had ten districts. After the bifurcation, KCR is focused on more number of medical colleges and as a result nine new colleges were inauguarated today. Eight new Medical Colleges were started last year in Telangana told Harish Rao. He also confirmed that eight new colleges would be inaugurated next year in Telangana. Telangana offers 22 MBBS seats per lakh population and the share of the state across the nation is 43 percent with the addition of nine new colleges.

Harish Rao also said that 21 government medical colleges were established after BRS took the power in Telangana. NIMS in Hyderabad has been upgraded to 2000 beds from 800 beds and four new TIMS will be added in Hyderabad.
