Following a dispute in west Delhi's Vikaspuri area, 15 persons allegedly murdered a 40 year old dentist, named Pankaj Narang, who lived with his wife and son.
DCP (West) Pushpendra Kumar said that, the incident took place last night, following which 8 persons, including four juveniles, were apprehended.
A juvenile is one among the two persons, who are prime accused and the other one has been identified as Naseer.
Reportedly, last night, Narang was taking a walk outside his residence and then the juvenile and Naseer brushed him onto their motorcycle, which led to a scuffle. After that, leaving the bike over there, the duo left the spot.
But returning back with a dozen more people, they allegedly, re-attacked the dentist with sticks and rods and even thrashed the people, who came in support of the doctor.
The attackers fled from the scene, before the police reached the spot, after receiving the call from the locals. Narang was later rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The attackers have now got registered under the cases under charges of murder, attempt to murder, trespassing and rioting.
“Police zeroed in on the accused, all of whom were found to be locals. By this morning, we had apprehended eight of them. Efforts are on to nab the others,” DCP said.
On the other side, a few of the locals told police that, the scuffle originated, after Narang’s son, who was playing outside, threw a ball, which hit one of the accused. The doctor came to his son's rescue and got involved in the scuffle. DCP Kumar, however, refuted these claims.
