Netaji files: Modi to declassify first set

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted before on Netaji death mystery issue, Netaji first set of secret files are going to be out on tomorrow, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the legendary freedom fighter.

Reacting to the issue, Tourism and Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced that the files related to the life of Bose would be made public when he met Netaji's family members (on October 14 last year). This would be started by the Prime Minister on January 23.”

For the event, there would be a small gathering, along with the family members of Subhash Chandra Bose and few other leaders.

Last year, October 14th, Modi met 35 members of Bose's family at his official residence, it was then, he promised to declassify Netaji files.

Modi tweet read, “The process of declassification of files relating to Netaji will begin on January 23, 2016, Subhas Babu's birth anniversary.”

Any findings related to Netaji’s mysterious disappearance are expected after files are declassified tomorrow. However, only a part of the files are going to be out. So, a conclusion cannot be expected this early, as there are several files in other countries, which are yet to be disclosed.

After Modi’s meet with the family members on October 14th, Madhura Bose and Chandra Bose, grand-niece and grand-nephew respectively of Netaji, called on Modi at the Parliament House complex and had presented him with a book on the legendary Subhas Chandra Bose.

After Bengal Chief Minister Mamatha Banerjee declassified 64 Netaji files, the demand for the declassification has arisen with the Centre and finally, the first set of declassification from the Centre, are going to be out. It should be seen, whether those files would be helpful in solving Netaji death mystery.
