Netaji existence: All 64 Netaji files into public

At least 64 Netaji files, relating to his life journey and various other issues were declassified and put on display at Kolkata Police Museum today, as per the demand of Mamatha Banerjee, West Bengal Chief Minister.

Mamatha Banerjee already announced on September 11, 2015 itself, that, all Netaji files would be brought into the public domain on September 18th. Along with disclosing the files, she even announced to digitize them from 1937 to 1947, i.e., for 10 years.

Speaking about the issue at Nabanna, West Bengal, Mamatha Banerjee said, “A total 64 Netaji files are with us. There may be one or two more. After reviewing all the files, we have decided to put them in the public domain, from next Friday.

Already a DVD of 64 digitized files was handed over to Netaji family members. From Monday onwards, on a first come, first serve basis, the archives can be accessed by common public.

Reacting about this, Mamatha Banerjee further said, “We want to maintain transparency and accountability. We don’t feel that, there is anything related to internal security in the files. Everybody wants to know what happened to Netaji. He was a national icon. We know about his date of birth. We have no idea about his death. People deserve to know about his last day.”

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose existence has become a question since few days and Gumnami Baba is alleged to be Bose himself, even though the history says that, he was dead in a flight accident. So to make the issue bit clearer to the public, all the details are now decided to bring out.
