The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is planning to sanction the proposals for an estimated cost of Rs.729 crores, received for improving the amenities in the city and outskirts.
Sanctions after reports scrutiny
In a 5-day, Swacch Hyderabad campaign, the Telangana government officials noticed a few of the conditions in the localities in the city and assured the people, that all those will be solved soon. Later, speaking to the media, Telangana Chief Minister KCR said that, the proposals would be sanctioned by GHMC, and accordingly, after analyzing the reports produced, GHMC plans to start according required sanctions in the next three days.
A total of 8562 proposals were received by GHMC, as part of the Swacch Hyderabad camp. The proposals dealt with the improvement of amenities with works related to roads, storm water drains, parks and playgrounds, drainage network and water supply.
Officials still visiting few areas - GHMC Commissioner
Speaking to the media, GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Somesh Kumar said, “the response to Swacch Hyderabad is overwhelming on the part of the citizens and though the initiative, which started on May 16 officially concluded on May 20, many teams were still actively visiting the assigned areas. “Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao visited his area on Sunday and interacted with the residents.”
He further added, “The process of sifting through the proposals received so far has commenced, and they were being listed out and prioritized. “For the initiative, the city was divided into 400 units and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has announced Rs.50 lakh to each unit for taking up development works.”
Not only estimated amount, can be increased accordingly!
It is to be noted that the proposed sanction amount is just an estimation, but if the works require more funds, it would be considered by the officials accordingly.
