Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi has been in the headlines since yesterday over his absence for the budget sessions. The social media is trending with hashtags of the 44 year old Amethi MP while the Congress leaders are trying their best to defend him. However, highly placed sources say that Rahul Gandhi will return in two weeks, most likely by March 10.
Apparently Rahul Gandhi is upset with his mother and AICC President Sonia Gandhi for not shuffling the old guard within the party. Since the May annual elections last year, Congress party has been undergoing serious struggle but introspection was made regarding the poll debacle. Mr. Gandhi asked Sonia to bring in new blood in the Congress leadership ahead of the Delhi elections. But no changes were made and Rahul was reportedly not happy with that which eventually resulted in managing zero seats in the Delhi elections.
According to the sources, Rahul Gandhi is likely to be made the president of Congress during the AICC meeting scheduled in March or April in Bangalore. Rahul wants full charge of the party and wants to do some make over removing the aged leaders. Sonia Gandhi is going to guide the Congress party hereafter.
