Devendra Fadnavis has sworn as the new Chief Minister of Maharashtra at grand ceremony in Mumbai, where Governor C Vidyasagar Rao has administered the oath ceremony at the stunning Wankhede stadium in the presence of 35,000 Bharatiya Janata Party workers and around 5000 people have been left outside of the stadium. Mumbai Police have closed the gates of Wankhede for security reasons as the stadium was packed with people rushing in even through the barricades.

44-year-old Devendra Fadnavis, who was the four-time MLA from Nagpur south-west, he had sworn in as the 27th chief minister of Maharashtra at 4.26pm on Friday evening. Fadnavis has become the first Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader to take the oath of office and secrecy for the state's highest post. India Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become the center of attraction at the Wankhede Stadium, where he was accompanied with BJP veteran leader LK Advani and Party President Amit Shah.

Meanwhile, The venue also attracted other ministers Nitin Gadkari, Venkaiah Naidu, Ananth Kumar, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Radha Mohan Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman and Raosaheb Danve. BJP also invited chief ministers of BJP-ruled states and NDA allies Prakash Singh Badal, Vasundhara Raje Scindia, Raman Singh, N Chandrababu Naidu, Manohar Parrikar, Anandiben Patel, and Manohar Khattar were also present at the Devendra Fadnavis oath Ceremony.
