As many as five statues on Tank Bund were erected today in the place of the demolished statues. The statues are, however, yet to be unveiled officially. The department of culture has said that some more statues would be erected soon. Meanwhile, tight police security has been arranged in and around Tank Bund to ensure protection to the statues. It may be noted that untoward forces, which allegedly entered the Million March (in support of statehood for Telangana) on Tank Bund last year, resorted to ugly acts of demolishing statues of the renowned personalities, which were set up during the reign of legendary chief minister NTR. The state government then said that the statues would be re erected and today five statues were placed on Tank Bund.
