R Krishnaiah warns of a movement if auto fares are not hiked

BC welfare association president R Krishnaiah has demanded the government to provide constitutional security to backward classes (BC s). He has said that he would support those political parties, which would give due importance to BC s in the upcoming elections. He has also said that the auto fares should be hiked failing which the associations would be resorting to a revolution. Further, he said he injustice was being meted out to BC s in fee reimbursement.

The political analysts, which supporting R Krishnaiah's fight for BC s, however, found fault with his warning to the state government in case auto fares are not hiked. They said auto rickshaw drivers have already looting the people of the twin cities to the core and further hike would only make people avoid autos. Andhra Wishesh conducted a survey in some of the important places regarding autos. And most of the people were against auto drivers, who according to them not only loot people but even talk rashly.

A software employee in the city, who commutes to Hitec City from Somajiguda said that in case he misses his cab, he should travel to Panjagutta centre for a bus or a private cab. And from Somajiguda circle to Panjagutta, which is hardly one kilometre, the auto driver charges Rs.20 and he would not even take till Panjagutta circle but takes a U turn before Hyderabad Central.

Ms. Sowjanya, a bank employee in Secunderabad, who had been brought up in Hyderabad, said she had been traveling in autos for more than three decades. And she found change in auto drivers' attitude compared to the past. She said earlier auto drivers used to be more soft and respectful. But, these days auto drivers speak rashly, she added. The response was more or less same at many places in Hyderabad.
