High command concentrates on AP affairs

The Congress high command seems to have shifted its focus from Central politics to Andhra Pradesh affairs as the presidential election concluded. The Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan has left for Delhi this morning, which gave raise to many speculations that there would be a change in the leadership. Also, the AICC in charge of AP affairs, Gulam Nabi Azad has spoke to Sonia Gandhi for more than 30 minutes. The sources said that they discussed Sircilla's incident.

The sources have also said that chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has also got a call from the high command and he is most likely to leave for Delhi at any time. On top of it, minister Jana Reddy is in Delhi accompanied by Congress MLA s from Telangana region. So, the political observers said Congress high command is likely to make a statement on a pending issue very soon.

Meanwhile, Lagadapati reiterated on Monday that since Pranab Mukherjee became the President of India, Telangana would not come until 2017. The sources said Lagadapati Rajagopal has become a pain in the neck of the Congress party as he's been continuously trying to outrage the regional feelings on par with other regional parties and Congress being a national party, outraging regional feelings was against the party mandate, opined several political observers. Also, the sources said earlier it was due to Lagadapati Rajagopal's statements, Congress party tasted defeat in by-polls as his statements increased the sympathy factor for YSRC. The sources even said that Congress wanted to ignore Lagadapati since he doesn't hold any post and may apparently drop him in 2014 elections. Many such decisions Congress is going to take from this month and Rahul Gandhi would personally look into these matters, added sources.
