Mamatha hurricane ends Left era

Mamatha hurricane ends Left eraWhile it is a Jaya tsunami in Tamil Nadu, it is the hurricane of the ‘Didi’ Mamatha Banerjee -led Trinamool-congress alliance in West Bengal that uprooted the communists that ruled the state for nearly 34 years.

As per the latest results and trends that were available at 7.10 PM, the Trinamool-congress alliance won 213 seats and was said to be leading in 13 seats as against the Left front which emerged victorious in 58 seats and was leading in 4 seats in the 294-member assembly.

A ferocious Mamatha Banerjee, who successfully waged battles against the misrule of the CPM-led Left Front over the years, choked the left rule to its ultimate death.

The Mamatha hurricane was so windy that even the even chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee lost his Jadavpur seat like so many other ministers and powerful Left stalwarts who lost to the powerful TMC-congress combine. And some of the ministers even lost their deposits.
