TDP MP s raise slogans against PM

Telugu Desam Party, which opposed  the foreign direct investment (FDI) in the retail section, staged a protest in front of Parliament today on day two of winter sessions. MP s from TDP headed by Nama Nageshwara Rao raised slogans against prime minister Manmohan Singh. They even demanded that immediate relief should be given to victims of cyclone Neelam.

FDI in retail has been coming under severe criticism from almost all opposition parties and even amongst allies with TMC chief Mamata Banerjee apparently withdrawing support from the UPA over FDI row. While merits of FDI were overlooked by opposition parties, the demerits got emphasized, said observers. They even said that FDI would leave no scope for middlemen to loot farmers. That way farmers will be at benefit, added observers.
