A lady heart attack patient was reportedly kept waiting in the traffic jam in Kolkatta, as Bengal Chief Minister Mamatha Banerjee’s convoy was passing that way.

Putting the traffic restrictions while the Prime Ministers, Chief Ministers and other ministers and biggies convoys are passing on the public roads, is not new and is even considered necessary, keeping in mind the security reasons of the biggies.

But following it strictly, costing the lives of the public, would not be appreciable. The same thing took place in Kolkatta recently.    
     
Due to the CM’s convoy, on the expressway in Kolkatta, the police allegedly stopped the traffic, which even included the ambulance, consisting of a heart patient.

Reportedly, the family members in the Ambulance, have pleaded and begged to let them go, saying that, the condition was serious, but the police refused their request.

One of the police officials, even caught hold of the pulse of the patient, Meherjan, 50, and reportedly said that, she could wait till the Chief Minister had passed.

Mamatha Banerjee was returning from Digha, but the police officials are not sure, whether she would arrive by road or air.  

Finally, after CM flew back to Kolkatta, the hundreds who stuck in the traffic, cleared the way for the ambulance and the notable thing is, the hospital was just a 20-minute drive away. The lady was finally taken to the hospital in the critical condition.
 
Responding to the issue, one of the relatives of Meherjan said, “We have a patient in the ambulance. I spoke to the police administration. They said we can't do anything because the Chief Minister's pilot will pass now. So we are stuck in a jam.”

This incident is now being considered as the most ruthless one and several netizens are posting their views on the issue, criticizing the government, in the social networking sites.
