Talks end in failure, strike to continue

TalksThe talks between the JAC leaders and the Cabinet sub committee ended in failure today with both sides not relaxing their stances. The JAC leaders later announced there is no question of withdrawing the strike. “It will continue till Telangana is formed,” said the JAC in a statement.

While the JAC leaders insisted on a promise on fulfilling their three major demands from the Government, the government, represented by the Cabinet Sub committee, demanded the striking employees to call off their strike first.

With both parties sitting adamant on their demands, the talks remained inconclusive and ended in failure. This is the third time the talks between the Government and the JAC ended in failure after the strike began on Sept 13.

The employees’ leaders told the Cabinet Sub-Committee that formation of Telangana state is their prime demand and the state government must take the initiative to ensure that the Centre releases a roadmap on Telangana.

To this, the Cabinet Sub Committee said the issue of Telangana is not in their hands as it is the preview of the Central government. The JAC leaders then walked out of the talks.
