CS reviews law and order in Telangana

PankajDwivediChief Secretary Pankaj Dwivedi today held a high level review meeting over law and order situation in the Telangana area and Hyderabad especially.

The Hyderabad Police Commissioner, Mr AK. Khan, who attended the review meeting at the Secretariat, told the chief secretary that they are examining the various sections of Railway Acts for registration of cases against those arrested in the Rail Blockade agitation.

Khan told the meeting that they have arrested some leaders and activists prior to the beginning of 3-day rail roko agitation as a precautionary measure. “Apart from that, police have arrested some leaders and activists who trespassed into railway properties and obstructed the moment of trains,” he said observing that they are exploring various sections of IPC, Cr PC and Railway Acts for registration of cases.

Khan later told media persons that senior officials will take decisions on registration of bailable and non-bailable cases against the arrested. He said most of the arrests were made at Sitaphalmandi and Lakdikapool railway stations in Hyderabad.
