LR: Half Telangana populace not seeking T state

LagadapatiContributing to yet another controversy, Vijayawada congress MP Mr Lagadapati Rajagopal said today that half the population of Telangana is not seeking the formation of Telangana state.

Speaking on the sidelines of a function held at Palakollu in West Godavari district to mark the occasion of Gajal Srinivas entering the Gunnies Book of Records thrice for his rendering Gajals, Rajagopal said his surveys revealed that only fifty per cent of the Telangana population is favourable for the formation of the T state.

“In AP, 90 per cent of the people are favourable for continuing the status quo,” he said, adding that the hullaballoo found among the politicians about the formation of separate state was not found among the Telangana populace.

Rajagopal accused the TRS and the Telangana political JAC of carrying false propaganda that the Seema Andhra politicians and investors have exploited the Telangana people. “In fact, it is the landlords of the Telangana who have exploited the Telangana masses for their selfish ends. This is clear from several books written by Telangana historians,” he said.
