YSRCP sweep polls with Jagan behind bars

The final verdict is out and Y S R Congress party has almost swept the polls leaving the Congress - TDP parties awestruck in Andhra Pradesh. Probably none of the political heads of the two parties will be there for comments. At this present juncture many feel that the state might see a change in guard. Or else the ruling party will strive hard to retain its identity for the 2014 general elections. The people's verdict has surely favoured the party at this stage, but in particular the verdict is in favour of the leaders who were already the MLAs of the ruling party and resigned to join YSRCP. The strong verdict of the people needs to be reviewed by the central UPA government which has been partly responsible for the resent state of affairs.

The bypoll became a reality when members from various parties resigned to join the YSR Congress party, started by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy after he was refused to be nominated as the Chief Minister after the sudden death of the then Chief Minister Y S Rajashekar Reddy. The Congress instead of taking the referendum of the elected representatives though a signed letter was given to the high command, nominated Rosaiah as the CM. Later N Kiran Kumar Reddy had taken over the reins.

Today's bypoll results have surely justified the actions of their leaders except at some places. YSR Congress wins 15 Assembly seats and Congress wins 2 seats while TDP registers zero and  TRS wins the lone Telangana seat amidst wavering trends. The lone parliament seat that was contested in Nellore was also won by the YSRCP.

Was it Jagan's charisma or YS Vijayamma campaigns that made the difference, a question raised by  many. However both have equally contributed say protogonists. In depth the following played a crucial role feels Andhra Wishesh:

Media revealed all details: Be it the arrest of the YSRCP leader or the allegations on him, everything has been shown to the public with magnified lense by the antagonists and the protagonists. The point that is clear is that, no body went in for fantacy and voted only to whom they desired would fight for their cause.

Politicians verbal row: The recent campaigns from various parties only spilled venom on the opposition and in particular the YSRCP. Both the Congress and TDP blamed YSRCP from all angles and depicted them as corruption avatars. At this juncture public was already fed up with growing financial burdens and mounting costs of even essential commodities. Public expected the people in power to address the issues but none bothered to tread beyond Jagan. This in fact more publicity to the young leader and ultimately brought him the victory.

Y S Vijayamma key campaigner:  With Jagan behind bars, probably some thought that there was no second person to lead the party. And that the success of the seniors would be a cake walk. However the emergence of Y S Vijayamma on the scene sprang a surprise to many. And this lady single handedly aided with her daughter cut across the state 18 bypoll constituencies and filled the wide gap for the YSRCP and Victory. The Chief In-charge of the party YS Vijayamma's efforts brought all-class women to the polling stations. This was the mystery reason behind highest polling registered this time, say sources.

No Community voting visible: Another key issue that was supposed to take over the bypolls was the community factor. However  it failed to impress as visible in Prathipadu where it was sure to be a TDP victory but things turned in favour of the YSRCP where Mekathoti Sucharita (YSR Congress) won. So out here it was clear signal that the bypoll verdict was surely in support of the party cutting across community lines.
