Helpline for Woman safety in Railways

The Railway department has noticed the increase in crime on women specially in railway stations and so it is considering to start a helpline for woman safety. With a budget of Rupees 4.7 crore, Railway department announced a toll free number 1322 will be put up soon and within few months, this helpline will be available all over the country.

The Railway department also said this helpline will run like a professional call center and one DIG officer, four inspectors will look after any call that comes to this helpline.

A very good initiative by Railway department at an appropriate time.
