India Named As The Most Dangerous Country For Women:- As per the poll of Thomson Reuters global experts released, India has been named as the most dangerous country for women and it has been followed by Afghanistan and Syria. Somalia and Saudi Arabia have been ranked fourth and fifth as per the survey as per the Thomson Reuters Foundation survey which was conducted by over 550 experts. The poll was conducted online, across the phone and in person between March 26th and May 4th which was spread across all the continents. US ranked the top country across the Western nations.
The poll was a repeat of survey that was last conducted in 2011 in which Afghanistan, Congo, Pakistan, India and Somalia have been named in the top five list. Now India topped the list because of the increasing sexual violence and harassment on women. India also has been named as the most dangerous country for women trafficking, sex slavery and for forced marriage. Over 539 sexual harassment cases have been registered in the country in 2016 which is 170% more than the number in 2006.
