Magazine claims RSS behind terror attacks

Popular magazine Caravan has claimed that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is behind the terror attacks happened in the country over the past decade. Aseemanand one of the accused in the terror attacks between the year 2006-08, has alleged that RSS has granted these massive attacks.

However, Aseemanand's lawyer JS Rana has rubbished these reports and threatened to take legal action against the magazine if it fails to provide certain evidence. Rana said, “the content carried by Caravan magazine is absolutely baseless.” RSS spokesperson Ram Madhav also blasted the reports and said “he (Aseemanand) is in jail now, how can he be questioned ?” Another senior leader MG Vaidya said, “RSS is not a terror Sangh. It is meant to build character and create history. All the allegations are lie and we are ready for any probe.”

Aseemanand in an exclusive interview to the magazine said that the 2007 attacks on the Samjhauta Express, Hyderabad's Mecca Masjid and Ajmer Dargah in Rajasthan, and the blasts in Malegaon in 2006 and 2008, were cleared by the highest levels of the RSS .

Congress leader Rajiv Shukla said in a statement that these are serious allegations and Home Ministry should look after them. Ahead of 2014 General Elections, these allegations are likely to take political storm.
