 Arun Shourie endorses PM's reforms

Though Bharatiya Janata Party was out and out against the newer reforms saying that the "am aadmi" government is changing completely, senior leader of BJP and the former Union Minister, Arun Shouried begged to differ saying that the reforms iin FDI in retail were the most needed at troubled times like these and they could not have been delayed any longer.

"Increasing diesel prices was the need of the hour," Mr Shourie said talking to the news reporters in Bhopal.

He also said that the outrage against the FDI issue was unjust and unnecessary in the FDI issues. He had showered accolades on the PM saying, "Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has for the first time shown his strength”.

Economically sound reforms are almost always politically toughest but the government has chosen to “bite the bullet”. The hike in the diesel price by Rs 5, limited subsidized cylinders per year (6) and a 51% FDI in multibrand retail.
