India not rival: China

Recently China had been trying hard to improve the relations between the countries in South Asia and in such an attempt it has mentioned India to be its partner and not a rival. It has also said that it was willing to work along with New Delhi, and other members of SAARC to work for the improvement of the relations between the two.

The foreign minister Fu Ying, after she returned from Nepal and Bhutan, said that the China-India relations were improving at a appreciable rate with efforts from the leaders of both the nations.

Fu also said that China's policies in India would not hurt the relations of other countries in an attempt to improve their connections with SAARC.  She added, “Instead, it will only add to the common prosperity of the region."

She said that China was ready to develop the cooperation with the nation further by working on regional development. She asked all the South Asian countries to “avail themselves of the good opportunity offered by the strong growth in the region”, talking for the first time about connectivity between the two nations.
