Raksha Bandhan is a day wherein sisters tie holy threads to brothers and in return they get precious gifts. But, in an unusual incident a sister not only tied a rakhi to his brother on Raksha Bandhan but has also given a priceless gift to him. Thirty-four-year old Asha donated her kidney to her 42-year-old brother on Raksha Bandhan. This incident once again proved the love and bonding that sibling share in India.
Srinivas Thakur, the fortunate person, who got the best of the blessings from his sister on Rakhi, hailed from Faridabad. He was admitted to Asian Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi a few days ago after he suffered from hyper tension. The doctors said his kidney failed and they need to transplant a kidney.
Asha came forward to donate the kidney and fortunately the kidneys matched. And the operation was done on Thursday—the day which marked the bonding between siblings. The doctors said Asha and Srinivas were recovering. Asha's rakhi and love saved the life of Srinivas.
