Sunitha Williams on her second space mission

Soyuz, the Russian craft has been launched this morning carrying three astronauts to the International Space Station.

Sunitha Willams from Nasa, Yury Malenchenko a Russian cosmonaut, and Akihito Hoshide represinting Japan would travel for 2 days after which they would reach 3 of their colleagues who have already arrived at the permanent outpost.

The event was witnessed by family members and colleagues on Sunday from the observation platform in Kazakhstan where the cosmodrome was leased by Russia in the ard southern steppes of the country.

The space station floats up in the air at an altitude of 410 km orbiting the earth has already been prepared to handle the arriving and unprecedented traffic.

HTV3 cargoship of Japan would, in the next week, dock with the space station. It would also be the first among the 9 spacecrafts that would make a contact with the satellite in more than 17 days.
