Ram Dev re-launches fast in Haridwar

Ram Dev re-launches fast in HaridwarAn adamant yoga guru Baba Ram Dev re-launched his indefinite fast late last night at his ashram in Haridwar after his efforts to go on fast again at Noida near Delhi were foiled by the government on Sunday.

The Baba was forcibly evicted from his fasting camp at Ramlila in New Delhi on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday when more than 5000 policemen including RAF personnel swooped on the fasting camp and dispersed the fasters.

The followers of Ram Dev tried to resist the police while the Baba himself successfully managed to escape from the police net at the Ramlila in the garb of a woman. He was however identified and caught by the senior police officials somewhere in Delhi.

He was then taken to the Safdarjang Airport by the police for sending him to Hardwar by a chartered helicopter. But on the instructions of theram-dev-re-launches-fast-in-haridwar higher ups, the police again took him to the Indira Gandhi International airport and airlifted him to Haridwar in a special army helicopter.

Baba Ram Dev began his indefinite fast on Saturday morning along with thousands of his supporters at the Ramlila grounds in Delhi demanding immediate measures including an ordinance to bring back black money into the country and quick steps to end corruption in the administrative and political set-up.

Fast will continue

Baba Ram Dev told his supporters at his Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar that his fast will continue till his demands are accepted by the Centre on ending corruption and for bringing the black money into the country from the foreign banks.
