TDP to change candidates in four constituencies? April 19, 2024 18:51

TDP to change candidates in four constituencies?:- During a meeting at the party's central office, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) made some alterations to their previous assembly candidates. Party leader Chandrababu Naidu revealed that sitting MP RRR from Narasapuram will now be running as a TDP candidate for the assembly seat in the same district. Initially, Naidu had planned to assign the Narasapuram MP seat to Raghuram, but the BJP leadership disagreed as the seat was given to BJP in the alliance. As a result, TDP provided the B-Form to their candidate Srinivasa Verma. In response, Naidu decided to field Raghuram for the assembly seat. TDP had previously announced sitting MLA Manthena Ramaraj as their candidate in Narasapuram. Naidu instructed party leaders to discourage him from running and appointed Rama Raju as the district president of the party to facilitate this transition. Additionally, TDP replaced their candidate in Madugu, Anakapalli district. Initially, NRI Paila Prasada Rao was announced as the candidate, but reports indicated that he was not effectively campaigning. As a result, senior March leader and former minister Bandaru Satyanarayanamurthy was appointed as the new candidate. MS Raju, the state president of the party's Dalit wing from Anantapur district, has been chosen to run for the seat previously held by former MLC Thippeswamy's faction, despite facing strong opposition. Jayachandra Reddy, the Tamballapalle candidate, is also expected to be replaced due to a lackluster campaign and alleged ties to rival groups. Several individuals, including Sarala Reddy, the wife of former Madanapalle MLA Dommalapati Ramesh, former MLA Shankar Yadav, and Konda Narendra, a high-ranking executive at a multinational chip manufacturing company, are being considered as potential replacements. The TDP leadership is also contemplating changes in 3-4 other seats, such as Kamalapuram in Kadapa district and Venkatagiri in Tirupati district. Although initial tickets were given to the children of party in-charges in these areas, there are now suggestions to revert back to their fathers' candidacies. TDP sources have indicated that any additional changes will be announced by Saturday.

KCR responds about Kavitha's arrest for the first time:- A month after K Kavitha, daughter of KCR, was arrested in the Delhi Liquor Policy case, KCR has finally addressed the issue publicly. In his first response, KCR shared some interesting perspectives. According to KCR, the Delhi Liquor case is merely a politically motivated move by the BJP to exert pressure on their opponents. Regarding Kavitha's arrest, KCR stated that it was a retaliatory action by the BJP after the BRS government attempted to arrest their leader, BL Santosh, for attempting to bribe and influence BRS MLAs. KCR criticized Modi, labeling him as a cowardly politician who tried to entice BRS MLAs when his party had a majority in the assembly with 111 seats. He expressed concern that Modi would now seek to dismantle the Congress government in Telangana. KCR also mentioned that CM Revanth Reddy may have intentions of joining the BJP, but lacks the support of Congress MLAs to become an Eknath Shinde. Additionally, KCR claimed that 20 Congress MLAs are in contact with BRS. (Video Source: ABN Telugu)

Court orders no discussion about YS Vivekananda Reddy's Death Case:- The murder of YS Vivekananda Reddy, which occurred six years ago, continues to be a prominent subject of discussion leading up to the 2024 Andhra Pradesh elections. YS Sharmila, Sunitha, and others have been targeting YS Jagan and Avinash Reddy by bringing up the topic of Vivekananda Reddy's murder, causing trouble for the top leadership of the YCP. However, a surprising ruling from the Kadapa court today has explicitly stated that the murder of Vivekananda Reddy should not be discussed in public forums. The court has specifically notified Sharmila, Sunitha, Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, Nara Lokesh, and Purandeshwari that they are not allowed to speak about the murder. Essentially, all opposition leaders in Andhra Pradesh have been instructed to avoid addressing this matter. It is important to note that the murder case is still being investigated in court, with the CBI looking into the facts surrounding it. Despite this ongoing investigation, the opposition leaders have been addressing the topic in their campaigns due to its relevance and its connection to the current YSR Congress government and its leader, YS Jagan. The court order comes at a time when the opposition leaders have been criticizing Jagan. Opposition leaders cannot exploit the issue of Vivekananda Reddy's murder anymore, as the Kadapa court has issued a new order. This is a result of their failure to assist the family during their time of crisis and their decision to shelter the killers instead.
