Spot your train now on Google maps

The Indian railways, largest mass transport for the public, launches  an online application Rail Radar which could detect almost 6,500 trains geographically on Google maps. This helps you much in exactly locating where your train is and the amount of time, it is behind the schedule. Normally Railways runs almost 10,000 every day. After a initial test probably the rest would also be added in the pipe line. As of now all major trains are listed on the apps.

By a click on a particular train, the map will show the exact route of the train including all the stoppages and the current location of the train on the real time basis. It would also show the route of the particular train. On a larger platform one could have a look at all the trains at a stretch on the Indian map. The trains running on time are in blue while the trains running late are in red colour.

The application is user friendly and can be easily handled. There is a mobile apps version also available for  Rail Radar.

How to go about the search:

Step 1: Log on to the website and enter the train number, train name, source, destination or a combination of these.

Step 2: Select train based on start date.

Step 3: Will give the current train status, with all necessary details.
