Bowlers put India into reckoning

Bowlers put back Team India into the reckoning on Sunday at Bengaluru. The third day of the second test match played between India vs New Zealand in India is posed for a tight finish. India heads the table with a win in the two match series. On the third day the stadium saw the bowlers from both the sides dominate. And this was evident from the fact that 14 wickets fell on the day. New Zealand's Tim Southee (7/64) and our own Ravichandran Ashwin (5/69) conquered the impossible peaks for their respective teams.

On the fourth day, today the Kiwis open up a little disturbed and wind up after scoring 248 runs. The Indians have just assumed play and are at 24 runs in the third over while lagging behind target of over 200 runs.

Team India which resumed from its over night score of 283/5 went on to make 353 runs in response of 365 by the Kiwis earlier. The two batsman who shined in the Indian contingent were Virat Kohli who brought back the match into the home team's hands made a splendid knock of 103 runs. But fireworks from Ashwin in the end of the Indian innings with a blistering unbeaten 32 runs was worth watching.

Later on when New Zealand came to bat, Ashwin as a bowler struck them with aggression. And they wound up at 232/9 and went on to bat on the fourth day today. The Kiwis lead by 135 runs with 6 wickets remaining at the end of Day 3. the prominent Kiwis who showed their willow power were Ross Taylor (35), Daniel Flynn (31), James Franklin (41) and Kruger van Wyk (31). Umesh, Ojha and Ashwin bowled meticulously well.
