India enthralls fans with a spectacular win

India makes a dramatic comeback in to the game at Australia, keeping the hopes of a million fans alive. A tremendous victory, appreciates Ravi Shastri.

A match that has no parallels was witnessed by the fans across the globe, on Tuesday at Australia. The match at Hobart between India against Sri Lanka in the Common Wealth Bank Series made the Indians reach the second position in the league. It was a nail biting finish with the Indian batsman Virat Kohli damaging the Lankan attack by scoring 133 not out. Gambhir aided him with his blistering 63 runs. The entire match was in a tight situation when the Lankans in the first half scored 320/4 with Dilshaan scoring a master knock of 160 runs and Sangakara scoring 105 runs. On the bowling side, Jadeja, Praveen and Zaheer claimed a wicket each for Team India.

Indians who came on to the field, had a mammoth task to do, with the statisticians claiming that if this total is achieved with in 40 overs then Team India will have a chance in the tournament.  Sachin and Sehwag gave a wonderful start. The high momentum was up kept by the following batsmen, Virat Kohli and Gambhir. The runs and victory hunger by the Indian team was evident from their approach. They finally ended with scoring 321/3 in 36.4 overs, well within the required target. Man of the match was positively awarded to Virat Kohli who rendered a match winning performance. Now Indians have to keep their fingers crossed for the Friday match output, when Australians take over Sri Lanka. If Australia wins, then our hopes are alive. (AarKay)
