On Saturday, Team India will begin their 2nd Test against South Africa in Bangalore, Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Not only the hosts, the stadium hosting the Test matches since 1974, has been a happy hunting ground, even for the opponents.

Now as IND vs SA 2nd test, is going to be held tomorrow, let us analyze that how  Chinnaswamy Stadium has been remained as memorable.

6 out of 20 Test matches, held at Chinnaswamy stadium, are lost by India, in which two matches are lost to Pakistan in 1987 and 2005, and another two to Australia in 1998 and 2004 and one to West Indies in 1974 and another one to South Africa in the year 2000.

In the remaining 14 matches, India has won only six matches and the rest others were drawn.

Comparing from the opponent point of view, South Africa has won the match in 2000. In that match, held under the captaincy of Sachin Tendulkar, India took batting first and got cleaned up for 158 runs. Anil Kumble scored 36 and identified as the top scorer.

Coming to Hansie Cronje’s champion side, players like Lance Klusener, Daryll Cullinan, Allan Donald, Jacques Kallis, took up 321 runs lead and put up 479 runs on the board.

In the second innings, India could only manage 250 runs, thereby losing the plot by an innings and 71 runs.

However, India has tasted the success in the last two Tests held at Chinnaswamy stadium. In 2010, India beat Australia by seven wickets, and in 2012, it beat New Zealand by five wickets.

So it should be seen, what fate has written to Team India on this historical ground.
