Jasprit Bumrah becomes first Indian fast bowler to take rank one in Tests:- Jasprit Bumrah has achieved a historic milestone, becoming the first fast bowler from India to claim the top spot in the ICC's Test bowlers' rankings. Climbing three places, Bumrah now holds the coveted No. 1 position, surpassing his teammate R Ashwin. Prior to this achievement, Bumrah's highest ranking had been No. 3. This remarkable feat surpasses the previous record set by Kapil Dev, who held the No. 2 position on the retrospective Test bowlers' table from December 1979 to February 1980. Zaheer Khan also reached the No. 3 spot in October-November 2010. Bumrah's rise to the top comes after an outstanding performance in the second Test against England in Visakhapatnam.

With a match haul of 9 for 91, he was named the Player of the Match as India leveled the series 1-1. Bumrah's exceptional bowling skills were on full display during the match. In the first innings, he took six wickets, achieving his tenth five-for in only his 34th Test. This remarkable achievement makes him the fastest Indian to reach 150 Test wickets. His spell of two-way reverse swing was instrumental in putting India in a commanding position. He dismissed Joe Root with an edge to slip and dismantled Ollie Pope's middle and leg stumps with a searing inswinging yorker.

Bumrah's influence extended to the second innings as well, where he took 3 wickets for 46 runs. Foakes and Hartley posed a threat to England's chase of 399, but Bumrah deceived Foakes with a slower offcutter and caught him out. Bumrah has been the most successful bowler in the series so far, with 15 wickets at an average of 10.67. In the first Test, he took six wickets, but unfortunately, India lost by 28 runs. On the other hand, Jaiswal, the Indian opener, made significant progress in the Test batting rankings. After his outstanding knock of 209 in Visakhapatnam, he climbed 37 places to reach No. 29. Crawley, the English opener, also had a successful Test, scoring 76 and 73, which helped him rise eight spots to No. 22. As for the top spot in the Test batting rankings, it is still occupied by Kane Williamson, who scored 118 and 109 in the first Test against South Africa in Mount Maunganui.
