Court seeks evidence against Sonia for her role in T suicides

A Patiala court in Delhi today directed a petitioner-lawyer from AP to show evidence before Jan 4 that Congress president Sonia Gandhi was responsible for the suicides committed by the students as part of the Telangana agitation.

The court gave this direction during the hearing of a PIL petition filed by the AP lawyer saying Sonia was responsible for the hundreds of suicides committed by the students in the Telangana region during the T stir.

“How can you say that the congress president is responsible for the suicides committed by the students?” the court asked the petitioner.

To this, the petitioner said that those who committed suicide left suicide notes blaming Sonia Gandhi for their suicides. “If that is the case, show the evidences to prove your version on or before Jan 4, 2012,” directed the court.

The petitioner also filed a PIL in the Supreme Court with the same allegation but no one knows when it would come up for hearing. (JUBS)
