Supreme Court questions Centre

The Supreme Court on Tuesday has asked the Union government the reasons behind failing to resolve the political issue in the national capital, New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party [AAP] has filed a petition in the Supreme Court which is seeking for a fresh polls in Delhi which is without an elected government for five months and the assembly is under suspended animation. “Why Should Legislators Sit At Home Without Work?” reacted Supreme to the AAP petition.

The Apex Court also directed the Centre to take decision on dissolving the Delhi assembly within a reasonable time. AAP has been very vocal in seeking fresh elections in Delhi while BJP and Congress are tight lipped. On February 14th this year, Arvind Kejriwal and AAP quit the government as the Jan Lokpal bill got deferred in the Assembly and since then Delhi is under President's Rule.
