Andhra Pradesh electricity employees to go on strike:- Electricity department of Andhra Pradesh employees has decided to go on strike from Wednesday after the government failed to resolve their issues. Being the highest-paid service in Andhra Pradesh, electricity board employees demanded pay hikes and other benefits for the employees.

Since July electricity board employees in Andhra Pradesh were wearing black badges and protesting for their demands. Since the end of July, they are attending the duties on a work-to-rule basis.

On Tuesday APSPE JAC members met with the government officials and had discussions about their demands. The talks between them failed and the JAC has decided to go on strike from Wednesday night.

YSRCP government is making necessary arrangements near the Vidyut Soudha in Vijayawada. They deployed 2000 police forces as security to control the employees at the time of their protest. Section 30 of the Police Act and Section 144 of the CrPC are invoked in Vijayawada so as to control and not allow any law and order problem in the city.

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana power employees are the highest paid Government employees in the state. Chandrababu Naidu in the United Andhra Pradesh has a pay revision on their salary, which raised up to 35 per cent and made it the highest.
