AP volunteer kills an old age woman:- In a shocking incident, a Vizag-based Andhra Pradesh volunteer killed an old age woman. This murder is raising concern about the safety of the public from volunteers in Andhra Pradesh. A ward volunteer has killed a 72-year-old woman with a pillow at her apartment in Sujathanagar, Vizag.
A 26-year-old Venkatesh is a volunteer at the 95th ward (Purushothapuram) of Vizag City. Varalakshmi and her son Kotagiri Srinivas live in an apartment. Srinivas runs a fast food stall at Purushothapuram. Venkatesh joined as a part-time assistant in his food stall a few weeks ago and started visiting his house often.
On Sunday evening, Venkatesh visited the house around 10 PM and returned to the fast food centre at around 11 PM. Srinivas after closing the stall returned to his residence at midnight, where he saw his mother lying dead on the bed. Srinivas complained about the incident at Pendurthi police station. Some of the cash and gold went missing from his home. Police started examining the CC TV footage and the clues team visited the crime scene. Police have shifted the body to the KGH for autopsy. In CCTV footage, Venkatesh was the only one spotted entering the house at the time.
