Terrifying Moments In Lokmanya Tilak Express:- Around 6:45 PM near Basin Bridge on the 22nd of June, a thick smoke surrounded the coaches in Train No 12164, Chennai Central to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai. Very soon after the train departed from Chennai Central, there was a thick smoke filled the train. Panicked passengers in a hurry jumped from the train seeking safety.

Luckily the train loco pilot quickly brought the train to a halt by disconnecting the HOG connector. Railway authorities responded to the incident and cleared that there was no fire break out in the train. The smoke emission was because of the HOG (Head on Generation) coupler, by water ingress. Train without any delay in less than one hour resumed its operation after rectifying the technical problem. One of the passengers even boarded the EMU on the other track. Few other passengers caught the videos on their mobiles and very soon the videos went viral on social media.

This incident comes weeks after a fire broke out in Durg- Puri Express in Odisha, where fire broke out in an Air conditioner coach. Such type of incidents creates havoc in passengers as they are yet to forget the tragic Balosore train incident, which took 288 lives.
