Veteran Congress Leader Ahmed Patel Is No More:- Veteran and crucial Congress leader Ahmed Patel who happens to be one of the closest political advisors of Sonia Gandhi breathed his last this morning in a private hospital in Gurugram. The 71-year-old has been admitted to Medanta Hospitals after his health condition worsened after he was tested positive for coronavirus. His son Faisal Patel revealed the news about Ahmed Patel's demise at 4 AM and he informed that Ahmed Patel passed away at 3:30 AM. "With profound grief & sorrow, I regret to announce the sad and untimely demise of my father, Mr. Ahmed Patel at 25/11/2020, 03:30 AM. After testing positive for COVID-19 around a month back, his health worsened further due to multiple organ failures. May Allah grant him Jannatul firdaus, inshallah," posted Faisal Patel.

The condolence messages and tributes poured in after the demise of Ahmed Patel. Sonia Gandhi called him an irreplaceable comrade and Ahmed Patel has been an ardent admirer of Congress and he stood with the party during the tough times. "Saddened by the demise of Ahmed Patel Ji. He spent years in public life, serving society. Known for his sharp mind, his role in strengthening the Congress Party would always be remembered. Spoke to his son Faisal and expressed condolences. May Ahmed Bhai's soul rest in peace," posted Narendra Modi.

Rahul Gandhi remembered Ahmed Patel's work saying "He lived and breathed Congress and stood with the party through its most difficult times. He was a tremendous asset. We will miss him. My love and condolences to Faisal, Mumtaz & the family,". Ahmed Patel was the Treasurer of Congress and he was tested positive for coronavirus on October 1st. He was admitted in Gurugram's Medanta Hospitals on November 15th. The last rites of Ahmed Patel will be held in his ancestral village in Gujarat's Bharuch. Ahmed Patel passed away due to multiple organ failure.
