No Laddu Auction In Balapur This Year:- The coronavirus pandemic shattered everyone's lives and most of them are left jobless. The spread of coronavirus is extremely high and a huge number of cases are registered across the limits of GHMC. Hyderabad is in danger zone and is contributing to the most number of cases in the state. The Ganesh Chaturthi (Vinayaka Chavithi) happens in a grand manner in the city.  For the first time in over 25 years,  the Balapur Ganesh Utsav Samithi canceled the auction of the 21-kg laddu prasad due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The auction for the laddu fetched Rs 17.60 lakhs last year. The auction of Balapur laddu takes place on the 11th day and is followed by a procession to Hussainsagar lake which is 20 kms away. The Balapur Ganesh Utsav Samithi canceled the laddu auction to prevent any unexpected incident. They also decided to install a 6-feet Ganesh idol instead of a 21-feet idol which they regularly install. Only the Balapur Ganesh Utsav Samithi members would participate in the puja and no devotee will be allowed for visit this year.
