Om Puri Insulted Indian Soldiers, Says "Who had asked the soldiers to join the army?"

Once India announced that Indian Army had conducted Surgical Strike on Pakistan at the LoC, many comments came from all around the world. While some praised the move, some others went to India saying that what they have done is wrong. In this wake, all the Pakistani artists were imposed a Ban by Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA).

Bollywood Veteran actor Om Puri provoked a new controversy by insulting martyred soldiers in an insensitive way.

When Om Puri was invited by a leading news channel for a debate about the IMPPA ban, he got angry during the conversation and lost his cool.

The veteran actor made a controversial statement saying, “Who had asked the soldiers to join the army? Who told them to pick the weapons?”

He further said that "prepare 15-20 human suicide bombers in India and send them to Pakistan for the blasts."

Puri didn’t stop there. He went on to say, “Do you want India-Pakistan enmity to turn like Israel and Palestine, and fight for ages? India is home to crores of Muslims, there is no point in proving them for war”.

He further said that "the Indo-Pak partition was not just the division of countries, but it also divided families."

“Several Indians have their relatives staying across the border and vice-versa, how can they fight a war with their cross-border families,” he said.

When he was further quizzed about why is he supporting the Pakistani actors, he said that "if people really want to ban the Pak celebs they must ask the Indian government to cancel their visas."

Earlier, Om Puri had also stated that "the Pakistani artists are working in India with a valid visa and it is irrelevant to boycott them as this will not change the situation in any manner."

These remarks from a veteran actor have created a lot of stir and he is now being criticized for his inappropriate remarks.

Reacting to Om Puri’s comments, Bollywood Actor Paresh Rawal expressed his disappointment on micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote, “Never thought someone like Om Puri Ji would make such a shameful comment. Sad. This is so heartbreaking”.

Ever since the IMPPA has banned Pakistani actors, many Bollywood celebs have come up with diffeen reactions.
