The die-hard fans of Narendra Modi have built a temple and named it after him. But seems like, this did not impress Modi at all and he openly expressed his displeasure. Instead, Modi appealed those are behind this, to contribute in 'Swachh Bharat' [Clean India] program.
“Have seen the news about a Temple being built in my name. I was appalled. This is shocking & against India's great traditions. Building such Temples is not what our culture teaches us. Personally, it made me very sad. Would urge those doing it not to do it. If you have time & resources, please devote the same towards fulfilling our dream of a Clean India,” wrote PM Modi.
The temple is located 120 kilometres from Ahmedabad and adjacent to Rajkot city in a village called Kotharia. It is scheduled for opening on Sunday. But as per Modi's appeal, the opening ceremony has been called off and are converting the temple in honour of 'Mother India.'
