AP with surplus budget!

It is estimated that surplus of Rupees 7,000 crores is left in the Andhra Pradesh government treasury. So far the government did not spend much except for the salaries of employees and as the government did not allot any sort of funds to any scheme, treasury has increased significantly over the past few days. Earlier, taxes were paid at Hyderabad which was the capital of undivided Andhra Pradesh and post the bifurcation, the taxes are being collected at the Vijaywada division.

Usually Vijayawada used to report tax collection of Rupees 75 crores every month but after the division, the total deposits rose to Rs 275 crores. Also deposits in other regions of Andhra Pradesh reported massive increase and many are paying the taxes at their respective regions. This is a good sign for Andhra Pradesh state, though it is running with a budget deficit of Rs 15,000 crores. The officials also estimate that, the treasury will increase in the coming days and once the capital is announced, more inflow is expected.

However, officials expect that it would be temporary and once the government starts alloting funds to several schemes, the treasury will have its affect.
