Pratyusha murder case strikes back, SC served notices on Siddharth

The murder case of Tollywood actress Pratyusha striked yet another time. In a major development, the Supreme Court has served notices on the prime accused in the murder,  Siddharth Reddy. The apex court sought the reply of the accused within four weeks. It may be recalled that Nampally Sessions Court convicted Siddharth Reddy for 6 years of imprisonment under several sections of IPC including Section 309, attempt to commit suicide.

Siddharth Reddy then approached High Court and appealed to cut reduce his sentence and the High Court reduced the imprisonment to two years to which Rs. 50,000 was added to. Siddharth, who was not contended, knocked the doors of the apex court. Meanwhile, the mother of Pratyusha too approached the Supreme Court challenging High Court's decision of reducing the jail term. The apex court, which accepted the petition of Pratyusha's mother, has given notices to Siddharth Reddy.

It may be noted that Pratyusha was an upcoming actress in Tollywood and she was found dead under suspicious circumstances in 2002. The post mortem report stated that she was raped and murdered. The case was handed over to CBI and investigation officials slapped cases for abetment to suicide.
