No let up in ruckus over Telangana, FDI in Parliament

The second week of Parliament also began on a noisy note today on allowing FDI in retail sector and on Telangana forcing the presiding officers to adjourn both houses till Tuesday.

The adjournment means the Parliament went without any useful work for the fourth day of its monsoon session.

When the two houses assembled first, BJP members objected to the Government decision on FDI and created ruckus. Members of the BSP, SP, AIADMK and the JD (U) also joined them and most of the members barged into the well of the House and raised slogans criticizing Government.

As a result, both houses were adjourned till noon but the same noisy scenes continued again in both houses but this time the members resorted to pandemonium on the Telangana issue.

In the Lok Sabha, TRS members KCR and Vijayasanthi and congress and TDP members of the Telangana region raised the issue of Telangana and demanded the introduction of Telangana Bill. They barged into the well of the House and raised slogans in favour of Telangana creating obstruction to the business of the House.
In the Rajya Sabha, BJP members raised the issue of Telangana along with that of FDI and didn’t allow the Chair to run the business of the House forcing its adjournment till Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Government has convened an all party meet on Tuesday to discuss the government's decision on allowing FDI in retail. (JUBS)
