Mamatha issues fresh threat to Cong

In a fresh threat, Trinamool Congress president and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamatha Banerjee today warned the Congress leadership that it would withdraw its support to the UPA Government if it continues to increase the oil prices.

In an exclusive interview to the IBN18 Editor-in-Chief Rajdeep Sardesai, Mamata said her party would rethink on supporting the UPA Government if price rise happens next time.

“Right now, we don’t want to quit but enough is enough. UPA must note we are answerable to people,” she said, adding that it would consider withdrawing support to the congress-led UPA if the price rise happens next.

Mamatha is very angry over the refusal of the Prime Minister to have a roll back of the oil prices during his meeting with the Trinamool Congress MPs. Mamatha has also asked the Centre to compensate her state for years of Left rule that she claims stripped the state treasury bare but the Centre’s response was lukewarm.
