Kiran accepts several of MLAs’ demands

kiranCMTo wean away the congress dissidents from the YSR Congress party of former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan reddy and to keep the MLAs happy, the Kirankumar reddy government has agreed to several of their long pending demands.

Now, MLAs of all parties can open their offices in their respective constituencies and also appoint staff to man them with government expenditure. The vehicle loan limit was also hiked to Rs.10 lakh from the present limit of Rs.4 lakh.

Assembly sources said the new facilities will come into force from the Ugadi festival, the Telugu New Year day.

The government has however not taken any decision on the demand for doubling the salaries of the MLAs and for increasing the constituency development fund from Rs.1 Cr to Rs.2 Cr. It might be mentioned that the governments of Orissa and Maharashtra have hiked the salaries of the MLAs abnormally in the recent past.
